Since its approval by the FDA in 1998, over 27 million patients have taken the prescription drug Celebrex (Celecoxib). This non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug is used to treat painful medical conditions such as osteoarthritis, arthritis, and adult rheumatoid arthritis.

Recent clinical studies of Celebrex have shown that the drug can cause an increased chance for patients to suffer from heart attacks, strokes, and other cardiovascular side effects if taken in high doses.
